Manual Therapy
What is meant by manual therapy?
What can my animal expect during a manual treatment at BEWUSST BEWEGT?
Before an individual treatment plan can be drawn up, your animal will be subjected to a detailed physiotherapeutic examination, during which above all the joint mechanics, muscle function and coordination of movements will be examined.
Existing dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system are then treated by passive techniques, but later also by active exercises (see also training therapy / physiotherapy). On the one hand, blocked or restricted joints are mobilised with the help of gentle techniques, on the other hand, unstable joints can be stabilised through individual exercises.
The aim of the treatment - apart from pain relief and improvement of movement - is above all to restore the interplay between joints, muscles and nerves.
We at BEWUSST BEWEGT use the following passive techniques during manual therapy:
- Techniques in the treatment of soft tissue structures: muscles, tendons, nerves, ligaments, fasciae.
- Massage
- Stretching
- Stress point treatment
- Fascia techniques
- Techniques in the treatment of joint structures
- Traction/compression
- rhtythmic joint mobilisation
- 3D mobilisation
- Side-of-Ease-Side-of-Barrier
